Furnace Service and Repair
Don’t get left in the cold! Is your furnace acting up, is it blowing cold air or making too much noise? Our experienced team of professionals is here to keep your home warm and cozy. We repair all makes and models and we will never try to sell you a service that you don’t need. Our technicians are honest and hard working and we are always transparent and fair about the work we do.
Sometimes a repair is not sufficient to fix your furnace. Sometimes a new furnace is the most cost effective and energy efficient way to go. We will always be honest with you about a possible furnace replacement. We value our time and your money, we don’t want to perform repairs or service on an appliance that is need of replacement.
If you do need a furnace replacement, we know how overwhelming it can be. Here are some of the frequently asked questions about furnaces that we get from some of our Michigan residents:
What Are the Different Types of Furnaces?
This type of furnace has only one stage of operation. It can either be turned on or turned off.
This type of furnace has two settings, full and half speed. This is a more efficient way to heat and provides for better comfort because it can move the air at a slower pace.
Variable Stage or Modulating
This kind of furnace modulates the speed and heat output based on the temperature outside and the desired comfort level. This furnace only works as much as you need it, this makes it the most energy efficient type of furnaces.
What is AFUE?
AFUE is the acronym for Annualized Fuel Utilization Efficiency, a measure of furnace heating efficiency. The higher the AFUE, the more efficient the furnace.
What Size Furnace Do I Need?
We can calculate the correct size furnace for your home. The number of BTUs or British Thermal Units, needed to heat your home is dependent on a number of variables. Contrary to what you might think, a bigger furnace may not necessarily mean more heating power for your home. Call us and we can set up an appointment to calculate the size furnace you might need.
Heat Pump Service, Repair and Replacement
We don’t just service furnaces. Many of our Michigan customers and the surrounding communities have heat pumps. Heat pumps are an energy efficient and environmentally friendly way to heat your home. If you want a heat pump installed or serviced or need repairs for your current one Eller Services is here for you.
What Kind of Heat Pump Do You Have?
A heat pump is a device that transfers heat from one place to another, from in to out or from out to in. It collects energy from a source and then transfers that energy into heat for your home. There are 3 basic forms of heat pump available.
An air source heat pump collects energy from the air through a series of coils and transfers it into heat.
A water source heat pump collects energy from water by running a series of pipes underwater and then transfers that into heat for your home.
A geothermal heat pump, also known as a ground source heat pump collects energy from the earth through a series of coils and transfers that energy into heat.
Eller Services also installs and maintains gas fireplaces. Gas fireplaces are an energy efficient, cozy addition to your Michigan home. If you are looking to install a new one, or maintain your existing one, we are the company for you.
Gas fireplace repairs and maintenance are potentially dangerous if you are unqualified to handle it. A gas fireplace has a gas line, pilot light, thermocouple and thermopile. When dealing with gas lines it is best to have a trained professional do the work to avoid any unnecessary danger. We recommend calling us for any problems you might be having.
Many of our Michigan customers have boilers in their homes and workplaces. Boilers are a complex appliance with a fairly basic purpose, to heat water and distribute it through your home. But just because it seems simple doesn’t mean its easy to fix.
The key components in your boiler are a burner, combustion chamber, heat exchanger and controls. The controls regulate ignitions, burner firing rate, fuel supply, air supply, exhaust draft, water temperature, steam pressure and boiler pressure. The water is heated inside the boiler and is pumped through pipes and delivered to the radiators around your home or building.
There are a number of places where things can go wrong in a boiler, it is best to have a certified professional diagnose the problem for you.
Furnace Installation in Rochester, MI 48307
“Carl Stephens led the installation of our new Trane furnace and air conditioning system. He is very knowledgable and courteous. After his review of the current system, he was able to come up with a duct plan that took up less space which was very helpful. The inspector noted that it was a very nice install. Thanks to Carl and the rest of the Eller team!”

Furnace Replacement in Rochester Hills, MI 48307
“We knew that our attic furnace installation was going to be a pain. We were even told that it would be easier to move than to replace it. We were so impressed with the attitude and work ethic that Carl, Dave, Jake, Phil, and Ari displayed during the 3 day project. We had our old furnace replaced and a new A/C unit installed and throughout the entire project, the team was nothing but great. The weather was terrible and the attic did not provide great working conditions, but we never heard a negative word about the job from the team. They answered all of our questions and worked tirelessly to get the job done! We would absolutely recommend working with the team from Eller!!”

Furnace Inspection in Oakland, MI 48363
“Came out to look at the job and said the house was bigger than what was covered by the offer I purchased. At the end of the day he had to install a bigger unit but was prompt and professional about the added charges. At first I thought bait and switch but bottom line I don’t think the price was unreasonable for this house. The unit has worked well all winter.”
